Many countries require a passport valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry, and some airlines will not board you without it. Others are less strict. The rule belongs to the destination, so check theirs.
One thing that is always true here: the name on your booking must match the name in the passport you travel on, exactly. If it does not, tell us before you travel, not at the airport.
